My review of the GameShark for the Sega Dreamcast

My review of Bleem for the Dreamcast

The short list of Dreamcast games that I own that don't work with the VGA box
King of Fighters 99: Dream Match I can forgive this one. It's just a 2-D fighter and making bitmaps for 2 resolutions would have been a pain.
Nightmare Creatures 2 It states that it supports the VGA box on the back CD insert, but I have to start it up with the box unplugged or else it complains that it doesn't support the cable. Perhaps it's a Windoze CE bug.
Evil Dead: Hail to the King See comments for Dino Crisis and the note at the bottom.
Dino Crisis I guess they saw no reason to improve much of anything from the Playstation version when they converted this title. Is that all you can expect for a $20.00 videogame these days?
MP3 DC by Pelican This works, but the colors are messed up and there are two copies of the screen stacked vertically on each other.
The reason this list exists is that more games work with the VGA box than are listed on Sega's website or on the CD packaging. If you have games that don't work, let me know and I'll add them here.
Note: some games that don't work with the VGA cable can be coerced into working by leaving the cable disconnected until the GD-ROM starts to spin faster. Evil Dead works okay this way. Dino Crisis works except for the opening movie sequence (and maybe other ones).

The list of Dreamcast games that I own that don't work with a modified SCART cable
Official Dreamcast Magazine demo discs I guess the SCART cable must have some pin that makes the unit think it is being used in Europe and they have forced the demos to be USA only.
Sega Generator demo discs This makes a bit of sense given that none of the above work either.
Coaster Works This is the only full game that I have found that won't work. I don't even have a clue why it shouldn't.
I got an SCART cable from Hong Kong so I could run my games on my Atari SC-1435 RGB monitor. It does a good job and will run things that won't run on the VGA box. It also makes the number of pieces I need to move around smaller (just a monitor versus VGA box, monitor, and speakers). For those games that don't support it, they go into an infinite reboot sequence between the bouncing Dreamcast logo and the Sega copyright screen.
